“Hiring you is like firing two good men” – James Cameron

The New Yorker has an awesome profile of James Cameron up.

Love him or hate him, Cameron is one of the great filmmakers of the last thirty years. His films are ambitious, ground breaking, and often they’re expensive as hell.

Fun James Cameron factoid: He’s twice broken the record for most expensive movie ever made. First with Terminator 2 which cost over $100M, then with Titanic which cost over $200M.

But for me at least, the most important thing Cameron’s films gave me was inspiration. The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, these are some of my favorite, defining movies from childhood. They’re some of the reasons that I wanted to get into this business, and start making movies.

And I’m sure I’m not alone.

It’s a great profile, and one you should definitely check out.
