Friday Link Roundup: December 11, 2009

Here are some interesting film and television related stories from the last week.

1. The Black List is here!

For those of you who don’t know, the Black List is a list of the top unproduced Hollywood screenplays every year. Usually there are a bunch of real gems included, and this year’s no different. There are some great scripts on that list.

EDIT: Nikki Finke’s got the whole list here.

2. Flight of the Conchords officially grounded.

I’m sure we all knew that it was coming, but it’s a shame to see the show end.

3. ABC cuts an episode from both V and Flash Forward.

Too early to tell how bad this news really is. The ratings for both shows saw significant erosion as their runs continued. I wouldn’t say this is a nail in the coffin of either, but I can’t help but wonder if funeral arrangements are being made.

4. Speaking of ratings woes, Better Off Ted returned with craptastic numbers.

Only 3.8M viewers tuned in for this awesome show? Shame on you! Watch it next week. You can thank me later.

5. It looks like FX has found a comedy to pair with It’s Always Sunny.

They just picked up a second season of The League. The numbers haven’t been stellar, but the show’s been pretty funny. If FX keeps The League around for a couple seasons it could grow into another solid cable comedy.
